Cabin Fever

BUURRRRR...

Well the DFW sure will shut down when a winter storm hits... I left work early on Thursday to miss the beginning stages of freeze and stock up on groceries.

Now, count the days... Friday.. Saturday..Sunday, three days stuck inside with nothing to do but watch a new Netflix series (Dexter) and get some cozy foods cooked. I, Cesar made beans, potatoes, ham, tacos (my favorite), and homemade arroz con leche YUM. We drank wine, hot cocoa, apple cider, decorated the home  for the holiday's. Although we were getting cabin fever, I LOVED being cooped up with my two favorite people in the world and our three fur babies. Monday came along, I decided to work from home, Cesar went in. Poor Alexandria is still out of school ,I am glad to get back into the groove of things, working from home is not the easiest without two computer monitors. I am already missing the time I was able to catch in with Cesar and Alexandria... I did not get too many pictures of events, due to: No makeup, sweats, and laziness..

Here is a re-cap:

Parade of Lights...

So, each year Downtown Fort Worth hosts a Parade of Lights. My mom always has tickets, and this year we decided to go. Wow, it was a blast!
It completely put my heart in Holiday mode, singing, shouting Merry Christmas as the floats pass by, hearing the the little child behind me say "Santa's coming", well over 500 times hardly even put a dent in my night. (wink face).
The cold was blistering, well, Texas blistering. None the less, having my family there to bundle up with and enjoy the wonderful time was awesome.

Anyways, this was a great tradition to start for my small family, I love traditions and this year we, I have been working hard to really kick our family holiday time into high gear.

How do you kick off your own holiday traditions?

Thanksgiving Part II

So, Most of our holiday plans end up meaning one thing... My family, is always the daytime get-together, with he exception of Christmas Eve... while Cesar's family wraps up with fun evening,-night,-early morning festivities :)
Cesar's cousin came in from Mexico, along with her husband. I do not think Cesar and Marianna had seen each other in close to 10 + years, I had met her on Skype one night years ago.

Thanksgiving Part 1

Disclaimer: I am the crazy photo taking family member.

This is Part 1, of  2. I split them up by families, this is my mom's side of the family.
And yes, all I phone pics :)

I hope you all had a wonderful time... we ate a lot, visited with each other, and laughed more than we had in a while. The holiday's are it for me, every bit of it. I love seeing my family and having the time to focus on one another, I always leave missing them more.

Nana and I
The pictures below, are my favorite. All it took was a few people to play with the kiddos, outside, in some leaves, and I was able to capture such happiness...

Cousin and I

My Bubba
There was laughter through the air, smiles on faces, football talk, giggles, and full bellies.

The perfect mix, and my definition, of Thanksgiving.
