I am officially old...

Soo... Good Morning-

Let us talk about how today is the Tenth anniversary of Mean Girls, and I have a funny...

So as you all know, I am mid-twenties and still "cool" in my opinion. Well to my lovely step daughter, I am the most un-cool mid twenty something, because to her, I am mom. So Imagine your mom walking out of her bedroom leaving for work wearing Pink on the day that "all her friends" and "everyone will be", wearing pink at her school. I did this not knowing that today was the 10th year. #unintentional... So we laughed and she did not believe that I did not do that on purpose..Anyhoo it got me thinking about how funny it was that this movie was funny for me then and it is still a staple for girls now and might continue, like clueless for me :)I It did make me realize, Wow! TEN YEARS?!? Where does the time go? So, that's my old story.

Next, I went out to North Park and spent some time in Sephora this weekend... here is my haul.

I have pictures from this past weekend meeting Essie Buttons, Fleur De Force and Amelia Liana ,they were in Dallas for a blogging function... that is another example of how old I am... Tell you more about that when I am able to get the post done.

I am still here...

So I know I have been MIA, this is Cesar right out of Surgery, big thumbs up.
All is well, we had our follow up this Monday and Cesar and his healthy body are healing exceptionally well.
Thank you all for the well wishes. We took a week off and basically just laid up in the house the entire time, watching movies then after a week, went back into work and that's it for project baby making, for now.

Let us talk about everything else... So a few of you might remember that I mentioned getting into a fender bender recently and was supplied a rental, only to get into an accident in the rental. It was stressful and not what I was looking at, I figure it was someone letting me know I cannot always have full control of everything.

This this Saturday my little bubba got into a wreck in his car, then yesterday the worst happened... My mom and little brother got hit head on by an F250 truck going around 50 mph. The trucks tire blew on a two lane road and went straight toward my mothers car. She tried to move quicker into the oncoming lane but they collided, totaling my mothers car. Thank GOD, they were not seriously injured, just a lot of bruising and my little bubs had some stitching up done. It was a very real situation that really will shake you up when you think about it. I am just glad everyone is ok.

Needless to say, I have not really had time to just breathe, stressed to the max about everything and trying to stay a float. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter... when I get around to it I have some fantastic Easter shots.

Over the weekend.

This weekend flew by...
We had to be in Plano very early to watch my little sis play her club volleyball. Man was I not prepared for  that, she did so great!
Francee's birthday is coming up, so I balayage-d her hair with a slight ombre effect, very subtle and natural, I think she looks fantastic.

Francee and Alexandria taking a break from reality lol.

It was busy, and chaotic but none the less we were able to get a lot accomplished before the Surgery... I still have a few things to prep for, and my mom will be staying over to drive us bright and early Wednesday morning, 4:00 AM to be exact. If you are the praying type please keep my hubs in your prayers... it will be a 3-4 hour procedure and an even more difficult recovery.

We are T- 1 day before the surgery and the butterflies are flying! This will mark an opening to a hopeful and new future for us :)
Hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

Asbestos Awareness Week

Good Morning-

I received an email from Heather requesting my help in raising awareness to Mesothelioma, and assist in spreading the word about Asbestos Awareness Week. Being an advocate for my own disease, I would only hope to be able to help others in spreading the word for the challenges they face as well.

So please meet Heather, and her family.

You can listen to her story and the challenges she faced in being diagnosed with Pleural mesothelioma. You can also read about how and what she is doing to make the public aware of the dangers in Asbestos, and the harm it is still doing to people around the world. Her awareness site is here.

This is her twitter account as well..

I hope you go check out the interesting information she has so graciously provided for us to read.

I, Also, hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and next week marks a HUGE new chapter in my sweet families lives. More on that for Monday!

Black Sheep

So last night I posted the picture above to IG, with the caption, Never too far from the City. I meant every word of the caption. I love the city, so does C. He grew up in Mexico City, so he and I have always shared our love of Texas, but yearning to live in a large Metropolis-larger than Dallas.

This weekend I was watching the SNL with Jim Parsons and he spoke a bit on growing up in Texas, and that Yes, a person like him can originate from Texas. Cesar and I just laughed and looked at each other- that is exactly how we feel. We find ourselves drawn to nature, But more so, architecture, hustle, some parts eclectic/vintage, and a lot of love for city life. I feel like if I could describe myself it would be: yoga loving-hippy loving -city girl with a major love of beauty, vintage class and fashion. Is that even possible lol. If I were to describe Cesar, his would be: Over achieving(positive), free spirited, lover of life, making people laugh, photographer of beauty with some sexy mystery mixed in.

Cesar and I came across a cute little boy this weekend wearing cowboy boots too big for his legs even, we could only assume they were a big brothers that he begged to wear. I made the statement that our child would probably not ever wear or own Cowboy boots, Cesar followed up finishing my thoughts, and we fantasized about how sharp, dapper, or fashionable our child will be. Sometimes when I go places around Fort Worth, more so than Dallas- I find the looks, Cesar will even notice... and that's ok. We feel a little like the black sheep of the venue. My mom and step-dad and entire family honestly are not TOO Texan, more like a country chic.. they are all fantastic and super stylish, but they also fit in more when we go to more country establishments. Cesar and I find ourselves drawn to the more modern or eclectic eateries, and my lunch date daily and I are always headed to our fave vegan spot.

There was not too much to this post other than thinking that sometimes C and I are the black sheep, but we love it and would have it NO OTHER WAY.. Do you ever feel as we do, like the black sheep?
