6 Years and 6 memories...

It has been six years, apparently to the day, and I still remember every second of how that day changed my life forever. I was young, Francee was younger and I will tell you this... I will never, ever take for granted the time I have on this earth with my loved ones and waste time harboring any ill feelings. My father was a truly genuine man. He had style, class, and the sense of humor to make an audience pee their pants. The older I get, the more I miss him.. To me, it does not get easier, the pain subsides and you can only remember the sweetest hours with a loved one that was lost too early. He would have been 48 this year...
I thought I would post some pictures and write 6 memories for 6 years missed...

See the resemblance, my dad around my age...

1. When we lived in San Antonio, my dad befriended a homeless man, named Sam. Gave him a shaving kit, had him over for dinner on numerous occasions and all I know was that I remember one stormy night taking him to a house with no windows and being so concerned with him staying dry. I do not know what became of him but I remember just knowing how big my dads heart was and having him explain to me (at 6-7) that you cannot judge a person by appearances, you do not know the struggles they might have.

2. While driving, we say a dog eating a alligator gar on the side of the road, my dad pulled over and proceeded to feed the dog our left overs from the restaurant we had just eaten at, making sure he was full.

3. My dad getting kicked out of my softball game for getting a little verbal with one of the umps, only to stand in the back of some random persons' truck bed, only to yell and scream from the truck bed. And NO, I was not embarrassed..

4. Francees' Birthday Party- Picture above... Francee was OBSESSED with Princesses, and of course how could the entire party bunch not dress in full costume... Imagine, April heat, My dad in full Aladin costume, cooking hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, cursing profanities to the adults and sweating bullets.

5. My dad also did this whole, I have a bad knee, it went out while walking joke he would pull... Mainly my concern was him walking me down the isle faking this, which I know he would have done had he been able to walk me down the isle. One time we were walking on the board walk and he faked his knee injury so well, a woman welped and reached out to help him to help. Also, he and Cesar discussed wearing pirate costumes to my wedding and it took a lot of convincing Cesar that he would not be able to carry that one through...

6. Historical markers, History, Texas history, Trains and Planes(blue angels), as well as cemeteries were my dads interests... I remember almost ever historical marker we cam across, It was...  Stop, read over it, talk about it. We also stopped at countless cemeteries to look for the oldest burial marker.

Those are just a few, of many memories I cherish of my very missed father...

Success!!!!!

Need to remember this some days!
Image Via..

Good Morning!

As it comes in waves, work has been intense so bare with my horribly sparse posts...

I had to give a quick update though, C and I headed to Frisco to see Dr. Buch and to get our first "numbers" since the surgery... and ladies and gents, I would like to announce that the procedure did take, not only was it successful but there was substantial improvement. 40,000 was the first read with 0 viable...
Drum roll please.
15,000,000 was yesterdays count with 7.5 million viable.... that is INCREDIBLE. Even the nurse was like, there is only improvement from here... You know what that is people. HOPE. I do not think I realized how important that visit was until we were there waiting in the room and the nurse asked, "Nervous Yet?".
So please raise your glasses and celebrate with us, that after, what has been almost a decade of trying we for sure know that whenever it is meant to be we have the possibility of becoming parents again, this time with a munchkin made from both of our DNA. We are not in the clear yet and might have a while, but people, this is what we were hoping for... HOPE. Thank you to everyone who has prayed, and given support and continues to do so on our journey..

Cheers and Happy Hump Day!

Dallas Meetup.. Essiebuttons, Fleur de force, Amelialiana (OH MY)

Long, Long ago... or two weekends past Amanda and I went to meet up with EssieButton, Fleurdeforce and Amelialiana in Dallas. Amanda first started following these lovely ladies (she is more of a beauty lover) and I followed after, I typically read lifestyle and fashion blogs. Any how, she asked me if I had ever been to a meetup and I let her know that I had not, and that unless I had a partner there I would be too, ahem, uncomfortable..

Amanda and I without heels are close to 6'2, so we decided how often do we get the chance to rock our heels .

We decided to go together because, honestly, how often do we get to meet three UK beauty bloggers with huge Youtube followings lol. So we made a day of it, headed to Drybar for Blowouts, Max's wine dive for Mimosas and brunch, hit up North Park for some beauty products and then headed to meet these lovelies.

It was packed, and we were by far the oldest women there, honestly there were parents driving their children and helping them take pictures. It was hot and we stayed hydrated with a few beers... but after we literally waited until the final people to talk to them we had a wonderful time and these ladies were fantastic!

Dry Bar, Dallas.. #Drybar #Perfection

So, this last weekend one of my good friends and I had a terrific girls day out. We started the day off with DryBar in Highland Park..

Let me talk about perfection, honestly I am now addicted to the hair products. The Detox dry shampoo, Southern Belle Voluminous Mousse, and Money Maker Flexible hold hairspray so incredibly good- serious stuff, amazing.  After we left we went out for Mimosas with a little brunch and headed straight to North Park mall after to hit up Sephora for some immediate Dry bar hair products. I decided for my blow out to get the Cosmo-Tai, friend getting the Mai Tai. So, if you have a dry bar within an hour of your home, I suggest you go. Seriously, if you haven't already it will change your life.. Treat yo-self :)

I am so incredibly happy it is Friday, this week flew by. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
